Magnesium (Mg) is a necessary mineral important for several physiological functions. Magnesium participates in more than 300 enzyme systems that control various biochemical processes.

First, magnesium is a crucial mineral that is necessary for keeping strong bones. It helps to maintain and mineralize bones. Magnesium is necessary for healthy muscular function and a lack of it can cause cramps and spasms in the muscles.

Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, magnesium may lower inflammatory levels in the body. Inflammatory cytokines may be reduced by magnesium. By its antioxidant qualities, it could decrease oxidative stress, which can fuel inflammation.
